QR Code Marketing Campaign – Tesco HomePlus
The team over at DigitalBuzzBlog posted an awesome case study on the effective use of QR codes by grocers Tesco in Korea.
The campaign idea was spawned to help busy South Koreans, the second hardest working country in the world, save time and allow them to get their weekly grocery shopping done without having to spend extra time in the supermarket. What eventuated was a virtual shopping experience like no other, all while commuters were waiting for their train. All that was required of the commuter was for them to decide what they wanted to buy, use of a smartphone camera with QR code capabilities enabled, a mobile payment gateway, and voila! The groceries were delivered directly to their homes.
A great and effective way of using the power of the camera on your mobile smartphone!
